Pickleball Court Dimensions & Lines (Simple Guide)
If you know the lines, you play with confidence. Here is the quick version and why it matters.

Court size
- Baseline to baseline: 44 ft (13.41 m)
- Sideline to sideline: 20 ft (6.10 m)
- Non-volley zone: 7 ft from the net on each side
- Service boxes: two 10 × 15 ft rectangles on each side
Tip: set cones or tape for the 7-foot kitchen. Most beginner faults happen there.
Lines that matter most
- Kitchen line: you can step in after the ball bounces. No volleys while any part of you touches the kitchen or its line.
- Center line: splits the service boxes. Aim serves cross-court past this line.
- Sidelines and baselines: balls touching a line are in.
Net height

Net is 36 inches at the posts and 34 inches at the center.
How to remember it on court
- Say “20 by 44, kitchen 7.”
- Serve diagonal. At the start of each point the ball must bounce once per side before anyone volleys.
