Pickleball Court Dimensions & Lines (Simple Guide)

If you know the lines, you play with confidence. Here is the quick version and why it matters.

Court layout with key measurements. Save this for game day.

Court size

  • Baseline to baseline: 44 ft (13.41 m)
  • Sideline to sideline: 20 ft (6.10 m)
  • Non-volley zone: 7 ft from the net on each side
  • Service boxes: two 10 × 15 ft rectangles on each side
Tip: set cones or tape for the 7-foot kitchen. Most beginner faults happen there.

Lines that matter most

  • Kitchen line: you can step in after the ball bounces. No volleys while any part of you touches the kitchen or its line.
  • Center line: splits the service boxes. Aim serves cross-court past this line.
  • Sidelines and baselines: balls touching a line are in.

Net height

How to remember it on court

  • Say “20 by 44, kitchen 7.”
  • Serve diagonal. At the start of each point the ball must bounce once per side before anyone volleys.
